The new DER Late Model did not make it's debut this weekend at Concord. "It is disapointing, but we have to have the car right before we put it on the track" said Danny. "We are real close to finishing it and will be there when the late models run again on April 7th"

The first late model race for the DER car will be April 7th. They will practice on Friday April 6.
"We need the extra practice day to get some fine tuning on the car" said Danny. "I am really looking forward to getting back to racing!"

NASCAR BUSCH SERIES

DER NEWS RELEASE

March 8, 2007

Danny Efland Racing, Irmo, South Carolina.

NASCAR BUSCH SERIES!

Danny has been granted conditional approval to run certain NASCAR Busch races! The news came yesterday by way of a call from Brett Bodine, head of the NASCAR Committee on new driver approval. Danny immediately said “this is the opportunity of a lifetime; this is what I have been working for!”

This approval comes after the submission of a detailed record of Danny’s successful racing background together with written recommendations. Danny’s application noted his domination at Florence Motor Speedway last season along with recommendations from respected observers: Ron Barfield, Chippy Johnson, Rhett Thackston and Johnny Davis. The approval allows him to run several of the shorter tracks with the possibility to run longer tracks subject to observation by NASCAR officials.

Danny said, “I don’t know when my first start will be, but it will be in the #01 Monte Carlo of Davis Motorsports. Johnny Davis has been a friend for 12 years. I won my first go-kart race in one of his karts when I was 6 years old! I really appreciate the opportunity he along with NASCAR is giving me and I hope I am up to their expectations.”

Danny will continue to drive his family’s NASCAR Late Model at Concord Motorsports Park.

Danny goes to Roebling Road to learn road course racing!

Danny went to Jon Krolewicz's Seattime Drivers school last weekend! SCCA Driving Instructor, Chuck Cecil, put Danny in his Formula Continental (pictured right) to learn the twisty course at Roebling Road in Savannah, GA. "Danny took to the track like a duck to water", said Chuck, "By the end of the day his times were competitively Nationaly - He did great! And it was his first time in this type of car and his first time on a road course!" Danny said " I loved it! You get a great sensation of speed, being that low to the ground. And I loved changing gears! I hope I get to drive the car again soon!"

Danny is busy working on his new late model for Concord. Look here soon for pictures of the car in progress!
